JHS Announces Plans for Homecoming 2012

Jacksboro High School is pleased to announce plans for Homecoming 2012 during the week of October 1 – 5, 2012.

The annual homecoming bonfire will be held on Monday, October 1 at 8:00 p.m. The site for the bonfire will be adjacent to the Pee Wee football field on Highway 59 near Lake Jacksboro. This year’s bonfire is the result of a cooperative effort involving the City of Jacksboro, Jacksboro Police Department, Jacksboro Fire Department, and Jacksboro ISD. Arrangements have been made for the bonfire to be constructed of wooden pallets that have been donated by local businesses. No additional materials are needed.

On Friday, October 5, Jacksboro ISD will dismiss at 11:30 a.m. The Homecoming Parade will begin at 12:30 p.m. followed by the Homecoming Princess and Queen Coronation at 1:30 p.m. at the High School Main Gym. The Homecoming Pep Rally will begin at 2:30 p.m. in the High School Gym. The Junior Bar-B-Q Dinner will be from 4:30-7:00 p.m. in the High School Cafeteria. Advanced tickets are $9.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 10 and under. Tickets will be available at the door. “To Go” plates will also be available. Tables may be reserved for class reunions by contacting Beverly Solomon at 567-7306. Pre-game ceremonies will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Tiger Stadium and will include the announcement of the 2012 Homecoming Queen and her court along with the Coming Home King and Queen for 2012. This fall marks the 50^th anniversary of the 1962 State Football Championship, Jacksboro High School will honor the players, cheerleaders, managers, and coaches of the championship team prior to kickoff of the homecoming game between the Jacksboro Tigers and the Archer City Wildcats.
