Joey Highfill

Service has been the cornerstone of Joey Highfill's career for more than three decades. From public works and city management to emergency services and law enforcement, Joey has dedicated his life to serving communities and improving the lives of those around him.

After retiring in 2008 following a distinguished 24-year career in public works with four different cities—including seven years as City Manager for the City of Lake Worth—Joey continued his commitment to public service as Public Works Director for Wise County. His passion for helping others eventually led him back into law enforcement. Today, he proudly serves as the School Resource Officer and a police officer for the City of Jacksboro Police Department, where he works to build positive relationships with students and the community while helping keep Jacksboro safe.

As a director for the Jacksboro Chamber of Commerce, Joey brings decades of leadership, problem-solving, and public service experience to the board. He believes strong communities are built through trust, collaboration, and people who are willing to step up and serve.

One of Joey's favorite things about Jacksboro is the community's embrace of community policing and its willingness to come together to help neighbors in need. He appreciates living in a place where people genuinely care about one another and work together to make the town a better place.

Something you might not know about Joey: After serving on and off for more than 30 years as a certified firefighter, EMT, and police officer, Joey jokes that he doesn't have many secrets left—except, of course, the unforgettable experiences that come with a lifetime of serving others.
